During a fire, the fire-resistant glass panel of the skylight transforms into a rigid, opaque partition that stays in place and does not fall under its own weight.

The certified production facility for fire-resistant glass has the technology to enhance skylight performance by adding functional glass panels, especially with regard to thermal insulation and solar protection.

This specific type of glass panel is used in roof skylights made of steel and aluminum, with the tested maximum dimensions as follows:

Steel construction – 1174 x 2654 mm

Aluminum construction – 1250 x 2350 mm

The use of larger fire-resistant glass sizes may be possible upon agreement with the manufacturing facility.
